I think they're all kinda surprised that everybody didn't figure this out on their own. You've played the games, read all of the Expanded Universe, there's nothing that says the Locust were an ancient race, and quite a lot that says they were created in a lab. Gears 3 DLC Characters, (New) Edit

Hello, I've seen that you're an active member of gearspedia, so I just leave you an information about a gear which hasn't his own page. His name's Jerry and he appears in the second chapter of act I. He is in the section in which there is the elevator button. He died praticly when you arrive, just after you (probably) kill the first drudge.

He has a drudge with him which explode when jerry dies (it's a script of course).

So, I let you make the page, because I've seen that there is another Jerry which is an old stranded.

(Sorry for my (probably) bad English, because I'm a french, and that's why I let you do this page and why I don't (that and the fact that I don't know the rules of publication in gearspedia).

I can go and pull individual examples if you like, but (no offense intended) I've noticed all kinds of articles containing text that could easily be re-written to flow more naturally and easily for a reader. I'd be glad to fix these kinds of things, but the majority of pages I see are locked. I was just curious as to the reason.

Unlocking the Gears of War 3 page itself would be a nice start. I could easily spend all night changing most of its' information to present tense (such as the Setting section) and possibly adding individual sections for the Horde and Beast modes. I could also rewrite the Gameplay section to give a more comprehensive view of the gameplay itself, rather than just covering the changes, to make it more accessible. Other pages that could be fixed include the Marcus Fenix (General spelling and gramatically awkward changes) and Lambent (Same) pages, but if they're locked due to vandalism, you need only unlock one or two at a time. If these are indeed locked because of my just recent sign-up, then I apologize for the trouble. If they aren't, though, let me know!

Some of the images are clearly from RAAM's Shadow, although the ones with the black dreadlocks guy and the bald smoker I can't identify. They seem to be from new downloadable content. Re:Picture placement.Edit

Why put the picture at the end of the last section, it doesn't make sense! No wiki I've ever worked on has layouts as bad as this. If the pictures in the other section, you have lick edit on that section, to edit the picture that concerns the section under neath it. Every wiki I've worked on has the picture in the same section as the one said pic concerns. And that picture on Clayton's page doesn't fit, because of the character template, it gives only about 2 words to each line. And it's a promotional picture, it has nothing to do with his early life or career, if anywhere it should go in the behind the scenes section. Warpath 19:36, April 23, 2012 (UTC)

As for the certificate, Adamant and Helmet those and a few others were from a Website called Giant Bomb, some I cropped from Larger images, like the Boltok and Grenades. COG Codes Edit

The Gnasher Certificate was from a viral promotion done before Gears 3 launched, it was part of the COG Codes premotion. Here is where we posted all the codes and rewards http://forums.epicgames.com/threads/814531-☆-Xbox-COG-Codes-☆. Awesome! I knew her death had to be about something, so that means they were publically 'discovered' 9 years before E-Day, but, how did Adam manage to get by and contact Myrrah? I just hope the book and comics answer the truth about Myrrah and the Horde. Without a doubt some of the Locust are natvies to the planet, but some (Drones) were made or afflicted by New Hope. New Hope, the Sires, the Locust, etc. Edit

Okay, you've read the Slab. At this point it should be pretty obvious where the Locust came from. New Hope researches teratogenic effects in children of lambent humans -> those children have mutagenic effects on a genetic level -> the children are moved to Mount Kadar -> Mount Kadar is where the Locust just happened to set up shop.

But we've been here before. The last time one of the developers said all this, it was all deleted, so I'll ask here before wasting any time on something that will be reverted instantly anyway.

If edits to the Sires, New Hope, the Locust, etc were made, sourcing quotes from throughout the series that show that the Locust came from New Hope, would it just be deleted anyway because it doesn't explicitly say "The Locust came from New Hope" anywhere with those exact words?

I haven't read it yet, but that info doesn't really match already released information. Take their relegion for example, the Trinity of Worms, where would that start? The 3 worms were supposed to have carved out their tunnels, allowing the Locust to rise from the ground in the tunnels (Am I right?).
If their orogins are in the New Hope facility, then it must be at least a couple of centuries ago, an entire species, with a hierarchy, a fully instated religion (without knowing what their true origins are), modern weapons and tech doesn't just appear over a few decades, actually that level of evolution would take millions of years. You couldn't expect mutant children to just come up with the stuff overnight. --Warpath 15:54, May 7, 2012 (UTC)

Wow, that's deep. Did you put all that together? Man that is mind blowing but some things are just really hard to believe. What this would suggest is the whole thing is a conspirecy, why would the government hide this, or not try to stop it somehow, granted they did and failed, which caused the whole thing, but why couldn't they have moved the locust above ground peacefully. All that resulted in world wide destruction.

Seasons on Sera (New Ones Mentioned In The Slab) Edit

In The Slab preview online, I noticed two things that could possibly be seasons/months and I was wondering If you could confirm that they are seasons/months. The two ones that were mentioned were "Reap" and "Late Fall". Fall sounds like it would be a season just lke it is IRL, and Reap sounds like it would be another month on the seran calander. I don't have the novel yet, so I was just wondering if you knew about those/possibly any other ones mentioned and intended on adding them later. Just a little heads-up messageEdit

Hi, yeah, there are pages that are locked, mainly the most important characters of course. And of course, I know why they're locked, don't want people screwing around with what's already there and correct. But, there's multiple spelling mistakes in many of them, accidents probably, everyone does it, and I can't edit to fix them. As well as I thought it would be a good idea to add to some pages, like when we know the year they were born, then their death, to put Approx. at which age they were, people like that. But I can't do that either, like on Dom, and a couple others. So, I know I probably won't get them unlocked for me or anything, but was just giving you a heads up, thought I would try and help out. I don't mean if I sound rude, or pushy, cause you've been here way longer, but I was just telling you. If you wish or have time, I could tell you the spelling mistakes I caught on a lot of pages and you could edit them, though I'm sure you have more important edits and additions to attend to. Funny Rod is talking about how not to betray the fans and balancing adding new info and canon conflicts. Rod is making a big deal how the Pendulum Wars is the World War two and the Locust War is Vietnam for the COG. And GI says the setting IS Halvo Bay and the academy there. Yes, please, FJ, if you could post whatever is revealed about Myrrah. I have a feeling we will get some idea of what happened with her in those three years after the sinking of Jacinto. I also have a feeling that since Adam knows of her origins there will be a moment where Myrrah reveals herself and possibly the connection with the Locust. I doubt they will ever cover Myrrah's story the same way. We may hear or see her in future games but her story will only last until this last comic.

No Blogs Solution?Edit

Hey there The Forgotten Jedi!

My name is Jorge and I am also on Wikia's Community Development team. You and JacktheBlack, who I am also contacting, recently were messaged by Doug. Regarding activating the Blog Posts feature on the Gears of War wiki and I wanted to follow up.

Blogs have received a lot of positive reactions from readers because it lets them and us set up cool blog posts about games, discuss games, leave comments, and write up some cool features. In fact, we have several in mind specifically for Gears of War: Judgement that could use a home.

We figured it would be a good way to bring in, keep, and engage with new users to have a Review Roundup (something pretty common among wikis), a Starter's Guide (which looks awesome and is actually viewable here: http://gaming.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:TheBlueRogue/Gears_of_War:_Judgement_Starter_Guide), and a Launch Pack (which are cool portals into game content around launches. You can see an example over at deadspace.wikia.com). We would also love to make the image on the Timeline page into an interactive image-map to liven it up and help connect users to your awesome content.

Anyway, I wanted to see if these are things that could either live on article pages or, if you've given blogs more thought, if we could turn on blogs for the community (even temporarily during the game's launch window). Let me know as your earliest convenience by leaving me a message on my talk page.
