Gears 3 DLC Characters (NEW) Edit

Haven't spoke to you for a while just seen your post to "Wwewrestling", can't we add the basic characters like Normal Cyclops and Bolter at least instead of the Savage Versions as we know that both Cyclops and Bolters are on the disc but in Horde Mode only for now, but seeing the video means they will be DLC, so are we adding them to the list or we gonna wait. New Characters Pictures Edit

Jack, do you know anyone who has any pictures of the of these characters, or if you know a site yourself with these character pictures:

  • Locust Hunter
  • Golden Hunter
  • Hunter Elite
  • Golden Miner

Theron Elite Edit

Hi Jack I just want your permission for this, I think EPIC have said that the Theron Elite is going to be future DLC but I am not sure off the top of my head. Hey Jack I just wanted to say I think I heard the same thing and the DLC pack will be called RAAM's Angels. this pack will include Gold set, Theron Elite, Aspheo Marcus, and 3 maps im not sure of the name.

Heya, Admin. Long time editor, first time talkpager.

Listen, I need to ask: Why is every single edit made regarding the potential morphology and analysis regarding the locust organisms reverted in short order? In the case of many of the existing species added in Gears 3, there's little official data, and lots that can simply be extrapolated by their general appearances and equipment - all stuff that should allow users to add plenty of content - however, these days I see that an overpowering amount of data added to the Locust organisms, even edits well-founded and based in obvious things like a given species' appearance or favored equipment, are reverted in short order lately.

I'm rather dishearted by this. Almost every article on almost every single Locust subspecies on this Wiki lacks any real information these days - I can remember that the articles were significantly more in-depth as late as a year ago - and many of the articles regarding the Locust are a fraction of the size and detail that they once were. Add an update on a Locust subspecies based on observation, and it gets reverted in short order nowadays.

Is this really how we intend to handle the articles on this Wiki from here on out?

We should be striving to improve this wiki and make it the best it can be, and that means fleshing articles out so they actually have content - this includes things like theorycrafting on species which have little practical data (the Drudge) or analysis of the newer species based on their gear and chose combat styles. I remember specifically adding, some time ago, information on the Therons that they are one of the only Locust scripted to pick up dropped weaponry (they are, and they do it in both Gears 1 and 2), but you can't find any mention of that nowadays. Does omitting it somehow make the article more useful? I don't quite understand.

We really shouldn't be reverting damn near everything when people are actually willing to spend time and effort to update and improve articles. If an article' wrong, that's fine - by all means, correct it - but we really shouldn't be blanket-reverting here. It discourages user involvement.

Hey, I wanna help out here soo bad and make something cool and interesting - so on Microsoft Excel I came up with this idea, which I can easily make a table for on this wikia... it basically documents the characters appearances in the games. If you don't understand, here's a picture.

HeyJack , okay ahm well here is an idea it would be great if we put in the Characters information beside the notable quotes from the campaing put the Multiplayer quotes Like:

Well quite frankly I don't see the need in having a section that just says "we don't need it" - which by the way was very rude of you, after I did all that hard work - just to be turned down without even a "thank you for your offer though". DLS #2 Edit

It was good. I need to work out some timeline details though. And some characters might have appeared but were not named as such, so that is kinda frustrating. Could you tweet Karen this: "What was the name of the Gorasni captain in DLS 2? 1st battle was a few panels of a Packhorse getting hit by a roadside bomb, and Stranded shooting into it after it overturned. 2nd battle lasts 4 pages: Marcus and Dom get ambushed, get pinned down, call for help, Gorasni arrive and butcher the Stranded. We also get the Gorasni captian showing off a fairly distrubing scar from having a Gear hold his arm on a hot plate in Learan Prison, and showing a picture of some of his comrades being straved to death - one has a bag over his head, another has his hands cut off - with a Gear smiling in front of them. Marcus and Dom are shocked by all of this, but Dom is positive it was done in retaliation for Ramascu.--The Forgotten Jedi 23:45, October 26, 2011 (UTC)

Many legit players get reset, it mostly have to do with falling to download a Title Update, I suggest going to the Epic Games forum and asking for help. Modders/Hackers/Glitchers are out right banned from playing on Live.--JacktheBlack 15:20, December 9, 2011 (UTC)
I accidentally glitched on Gears of War 2 on Subway! :( I jumped over a cover, but someone was behind it or something and I fell through the floor and couldn't get out :( Then the other team (clearly new the glitch so it must be a popular one) all came down and chased me! Unknown Species Edit

I was replaying Gears of War 2 today, and on Act 2 Chapter 3, when you enter the palace type thing where you first meet the Kantus, you see like a group of gray things running on the floor, I thought they were rats, but when I shot them they bled green. I found some that weren't moving, and they're like a small rockworm-looking type beetle of some sort. Maybe we could find out a name for them and make an article? Your opinion Edit

I'm just trying to get a start on pages for the battles in Gears 3 (more specifically, just the battle tables, and allow someone better at creating pages to due the rest) and I would just like your opinion on where you believe the Mission to Hanover ends and the Battle of the Deadlands begins. I believe that the Mission to Hanover technically ends when Delta kills the 2nd Brumak and Chairman Prescott dies and the Deadlands battle begins with the Savage Corpser and ends with rescuing of Dizzy. Just wanting your official opinion on this.

Also, the Battles reference tables need to be a little tweaked. The Attack on Griffin Tower should be added to the Battles of the Locust War and the Mission to Char should be removed from there. FelixRodriguez 00:14, December 10, 2011 (UTC)

Ah I'm sorry I wasn't clear enough on my post. I know that Hanover and Deadlands are two different battles, I would just like to know your official opinion on WHEN one ends and the other begins.

For example, I contend that the Mission to Hanover ends with the killing of the Brumak and the death of Prescott whereas the Deadlands battle begins soon after when Delta encounters the first Savage Corpser. FelixRodriguez 03:40, December 10, 2011 (UTC)

For the Horde 2.0 page. The HTML coding for the colors was just too messy and confusing looking for when people would try to edit that section, so I made the templates to cut down on it. Hey Jack,

While I'm new to this specific Wiki, I've made my home on several other ones and I have to say I'm a little disheartened at what I find here. I've never seen so many locked pages containing so many mistakes. Is there a justifiable reason for locking so many pages that contain easily fixable errors? If there is, please let me know. If there is not, please unlock the majority of them for updating/correction. I've been in love with the Gears of War series since I first played it in 2006, and it's sad to see it being treated so poorly.

Hello, I have noticed that the Horde 2.0 has a table that contains information on the spawning of Locust and Lambent and Savage Locust in the waves that are marked, and I would like to point out that the Lambent col. Couple ThingsEdit

I think the talk pages would be improved if all the comments that are against the MoS would be removed. Basicly the ones that you/TFJ say "talk pages are not a forum" too. This would probably help organize the talk pages more, and make them seem less forum-ish.

Serapede Edit

Was looking at the Serapede page, and having played the game the nature of it is rather confusing. The page makes reference to both the Serapede and the Giant Serapede whilst making it unclear whether they are the same creature or different (it isn't clear in the game either). Renaming Lambent Invasion page Edit

I know I've brought this up before, last time prior to the release of the third game. Now I still feel the page should be renamed the Lambent Pandemic, as the game establishes that Lambency is a result of an infection caused by the Imulsion parasite. The Lambent as a group don't have any organisation, which the name 'Lambent Invasion' implies. I remember your previous response in that the name is conjecture, but the Pandemic title seems to fit better until a canon name is given. Я читал несколько комиксов и книгу которую переводила наша российская компания АЗБУКА. Это было Боевое Братство, но у вас она называется Битва на Полях Асфо.. Тоесть вы видите что наши безрукие переводчики даже название не смогли перевести. Поэтому у нас с этим очень трудно, и единственный источник это вы Английская Gears of War Wiki.

Having just replayed Act 1 Chapter 1 on Gears 3, which states that the events take place 2 years after the sinking of Jacinto, thus setting the game in 17 A.E..   • I don't see how saying how WMDs destroying 90% of the surface and the Hollow causes massive environmental damage is speculation. If that happened to earth consider how much of the environment would be destroyed. I know it not confirmed in the series but it more of a logical conclusion.     • I'll go over it and try to remove what you see as speculation. For the Gorasni, I used a quote from Coalition's End which shows the population decline from both war and other causes. The chickens, you can see on maps such as Old Town, which is why I thought they could be said to have survived. I Have a Few Questions Edit

I have a few questions that regard Emergence Day cause I'm working on a Fanon that's on the Epic Games Forums.

1) Jacinto on E-Day

I know that on Emergence Day, most of Sera was attacked by the Locust but what exactly happened to Jacinto Plateau and the surrounding area on E-Day? Did the Locust attack Landown, did they attack Ephyra, did they even attack anywhere near Jacinto Plateau in the first place? I'm working on my Fanon so I need to know what happened to Jacinto 'cause the main group is heading to Jacinto after they narrowly escaped the Locust in some city.

2) Jacinto's Layout

What exactly was Jacinto like on Emergence Day? What did it look outside the plateau, on the plateau's slope, outside Ephyra and inside Ephyra? When was the Trench approximenatly dug, what did they use to dig the trench?

Hey, people. I need to say something that really concerns me about the game. Marcus Fenix has a tattoo (Light blue, COG symbol in the back ground, and a skull crossed with two Modern Lancers.) So, what I've been concerned about is that Marcus got the tattoo during the Pendulum Wars, when the Lancer-Chainsaw idea wasn't even concieved yet, and I doubt he got the tatoo A.E. because there probably weren't too many people who thought that thier tattoo equipment were a necessity in evacuating. So I need an answer 'cause right when I figured this out, it got me depressesd and basically ruined the whole game for me. I'm not on this website a whole lot so just send me a message.

Got the Slab Edit

Only been one so far: Ephyra. It went pretty fast. The COG expected the Locust to use the sewers to enter the city, but they managed to breach the subway stations instead and pour thousands of Locust into the city. They captured the CIC quickly and jammed most of the COG's comms. The only hope they had was destroying a bridge to prevent the Locust from crosssing into part of the city they hadn't entered, but Marcus messed that up when he left to save Adam with part of the HoD targeting laser. Hoffman had to use it very carefully, and the time it took for him to do that plus the delay with Marcus leaving caused thousands of Locust to make it across. Only two survivors out of ten big units stationed on the bridge, with only the northern section of Ephyra remaining in COG hands, and half of Jacinto falling as well.--The Forgotten Jedi 00:39, May 6, 2012 (UTC)
Except he doesn't. He was desperatly trying to figure out a way to prevent the trial. It was only after he realized that Marcus had risked the lives of Dom, Jace, and Tai without telling them what he was doing did he decide he had to go through with it. Oh, and Pad just showed up in 11 A.E. for a chat with Hoffman. Turns out he didn't disappear completely. He would go out to local Stranded camps for months, come back with information, etc. The time between vists just got longer, and then I guess he headed for the Pesangas.--The Forgotten Jedi 01:54, May 6, 2012 (UTC)
A small town a few hours away from Ephyra. The COG attempted to halt the Locust advance through the sewers there. Some really cool new PoV characters at the prison, and Nevil is also a PoV. There's really not that many and most of them are pretty short. Lot more character work. We do get Dom's PoV as he breaks Marcus out though. The last chapter basicly starts with Dom trying to figure out how to get into The Slab past thousands of grubs and then moving into the opening of Gears 1, up to the point where the Drones attack in Embry Square. The Slab scenes are excellent. Two great PoV characters for that. Pages 191-193 is the conversation between Prescott and Bakos about New Hope, Niles Samson's teratogenicity study, the missing "children", and Prescott and Adam talking about the COG covering everything up. You've got all those quotes from the Slab, the Niles AI recording from Gears 2, and the Sires design document which tells you "the Sires are the forefathers of the Locust" and that they're imulsion mutated humans.

Related Video ModuleEdit

Over the past couple of months we have been developing and testing a related videos module on some wikis like Harry Potter, Hunger Games and Halo. During these tests we have been tracking the number of video plays as well as collecting community feedback. We are now ready to expand the rollout to the rest of the site, and we are starting with wikis that there are the most videos for - which includes your wiki!

The videos we have are fully licensed from video partners we have developed relationships with. They include videos such as trailers, famous movie/TV clips, walkthroughs and behind the scenes interviews. We currently have video content from Screenplay and are working to create partnerships with other vendors, including Hulu, soon. You can see the video content we have by visiting the video wiki and either searching by keyword or checking out the various categories.

When the module is enabled, it will already be pre-populated with videos related to your topic. We will try to pick the best videos from the video wiki, but understand that the community’s ability to adjust the content is very important, so you will have access to both adding and removing videos within the module. This can include adding videos already on your wiki or adding new ones from the video wiki.

Our high-quality videos will compliment the fantastic articles and photos on your wiki. On 5 of the test wikis the videos in the modules have already had over 10,000 views. This is an exciting number and we hope as we make more videos available these numbers will increase. We are in the process of pre-populating the related videos module for your wiki, and expect the module to go live within the next couple of weeks, so please let me if you have any any questions or concerns.

Hey Jack, I've noticed all the character pages either have the full body portrait image of the character or a portrait image that ends at their knee's. I think it would be best if all the character images that are full portraits are changed to the ones that cuts off at the knees, it looks better and not all the character have full body portrait images. I just wanted to let you know ill be changing all the full portrait images to the knee cut off ones, and if people want to see the full portrai they can see that image in there galleries. Rat Bike/COG BikeEdit

Hey Jack aren't the Rat bike and COG bike the same vehicle? The only difference in the pages are that the COG bike has a sidecar/turret attachment that allow's an extra person to sit in it. No Blogs Solution?Edit

Hey there Jacktheblack!

My name is Jorge and I am also on Wikia's Community Development team. You and The Forgotten Jedi, who I am also contacting, recently were messaged by Doug. Regarding activating the Blog Posts feature on the Gears of War wiki and I wanted to follow up.

Blogs have received a lot of positive reactions from readers because it lets them and us set up cool blog posts about games, discuss games, leave comments, and write up some cool features. In fact, we have several in mind specifically for Gears of War: Judgement that could use a home.

We figured it would be a good way to bring in, keep, and engage with new users to have a Review Roundup (something pretty common among wikis), a Starter's Guide (which looks awesome and is actually viewable here: http://gaming.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:TheBlueRogue/Gears_of_War:_Judgement_Starter_Guide), and a Launch Pack (which are cool portals into game content around launches. You can see an example over at deadspace.wikia.com). We would also love to make the image on the Timeline page into an interactive image-map to liven it up and help connect users to your awesome content.

Anyway, I wanted to see if these are things that could either live on article pages or, if you've given blogs more thought, if we could turn on blogs for the community (even temporarily during the game's launch window). I created this page (Siege of Halvo Bay) earlier today, I only just realized that this page Destruction of Halvo Bay existed. The Page I made is much neater (not being bias), and matches the new info for Gears: Judgment better. I liked it too, but I thought that the Aftermath campaign was better. The small little levels in the main campaign just didn't feel right. Broke up the story with too many menus. Plus there was nowhere near the same amount of banter between squadmates. That was unfortunate. Aftermath had good banter though. COG Tags could have had more detail as well, but I'm a big collectables kind of person, so that probably doesn't matter as much to most people. But the memorial blocks in the boss battle made up for it in some ways. All those names from Aspho Fields... too bad Karn kept trying to kill me while I was reading them, and some of them don't have much lighting on them, like the Anvil Gate one.--The Forgotten Jedi (talk) 05:59, March 20, 2013 (UTC)

Aftermath CampaignEdit

Hey Jack about the unlockable aftermath campaign that comes with judgment, since the aftermath campaign takes place during the events of Gears 3 (filling in the gap where Baird, Cole and Clay go find reinforcements) and not judgment should it have its own page and be separate from the judgment page like RAAM's Shadow?--Parasidian (talk) 13:01, March 19, 2013 (UTC)

RE: Halvo Bay victory Edit

I'm not sure. The COG still held the city, since there was a cleanup effort (which Dizzy participated in), and killed Karn, but they had such massive casualties. Perhaps pyrrhic COG victory? I'm wondering about the timing. The developers said around 30 days after Emergence Day, but Coalition's End gives a little under 3 months, which works a lot better. I don't think a time was ever given in the game, so the book trumps developer in my mind, and it would work better for some of the events: give Baird time to be promoted, Sofia to get training and have the affair with Elliott, Paduk to get rescued and become a Gears, etc. Works much better in a 3 month time period than a 30 day one.--The Forgotten Jedi (talk) 22:40, March 20, 2013 (UTC)

RE: Marcus in Halvo Bay Edit

Yeah, they did that cameo really well. The first few times the Omega-Two guy speaks, the comms are distorted by Seeders. Only when you get closer does his voice become clearer. The page lists story conflicts between Coalition's End and Judgment, as follows:

Conjecture: Gears of War: Coalition's End has the destruction of Halvo Bay taking place three months after E-Day, not one. And the Mark 2 Lancer was introduced one year after E-Day not one month.

​Just for the record--and we really tried to be careful about this--the fall and the destruction of Halvo Bay were, at least in our minds, two different events. The first took place during the events of Judgment (which was actually supposed to be a little closer to six weeks after E-Day; the marketing materials rounded down as "one month" sounded a little snappier), the latter occurred another month or two later as described in Coalition's End. At that point in time, additional Locust forces breezed through Halvo to finish the work that Karn hard started. This is why the statue in Aftermath refers to Loomis's death taking place in Halvo; he stayed behind in an eventually failed attempt to save the city he had already lost. Tragic, right?

Anyway, just wanted to chime in to say that Tom and I think the work you guys are doing unpacking the little bread crumbs of quiet story that we left scattered around GOWJ is nothing short of amazing. And this site was nothing short of invaluable when it came to a forgotten fact or a misremebered date during the writing process. The work done by everyone at Gearspedia made it a hell of a lot easier for us to write a story that would fit cleanly within the existing universe. There's something kind of beautiful in that. Keep it up!

Confusion about NashEdit

Hey! What's up. I'm from the Spanish Gearspedia, greetings from Mexico. The issue of this message is to discuss about Nash. As you know, he was a Gear that was stationated at the CNV Sovereign. But curiously, Nash was also a soldier from Echo-Six, Barrick's team on Gears of War: Hollow. It's confusing, but I was thinking abput it and if you see, Nash from the CNV has got a gold helmet, which means that he has been surviving and he's may a veteran in war. So then, what I thinks is that he could survive to that attack on Pirnah being part of Echo-Six, then he returned to te COG and continued as a soldier. That could explain why he's on the Sovereign at Gears 3.

Well, is a confusion I just imagined. I think it may be probably, it makes sense... What do you think?

Template:Locust SpeciesEdit

Could you please unlock the Template: Locust Species page? The Rager and Shibboleth need to be added, the Locust Horde humanoids need to be alphabetised to match the Hollow Creatures, and I would add the Sires above the rest of the humanoid Locust on a line by itself.
