The mortar is very useful on the battle especially on Jacinto so you can kill them easily in the area where all the soldiers are usually fighting. I've actually won battle just by using one explosion from the mortar.

The Mortar is very useful against the Brumaks because it is just two shots and the Brumak is down. Very useful in the level where you have to defend the rig called Betty from the Brumak on Gears of War 2.

Thats the only way you can kill the brumak on the protection mission. and after the TU4 you cant undeploy intill after your finished reloading which can kill you in horde. Ps shooting a mortar in doors is epic , realy fun on pavillion.
