The skirmish in the Kashkur Foothills took place sixteen years after Emergence Day between three Gears stationed at Anvil Gate and Locust drones.

Search for StrandedEdit
Around six months after the evacuation of Vectes and the arrival of Coalition of Ordered Governments Gears and civilians at Anvil Gate, Sgt.Bernadette Mataki led Sgt.Drew Rossi and Pvt.Padrick Salton out to the Kashkur Foothills to search for a group of Stranded suspected of attacking one of their convoys. After their dog Mac located a Stranded tent, the three Gears captured the three Stranded in the tent and warned them to cease their attacks. However, Mac began barking and took off, causing Bernie and Pad to follow him and see what he had detected.[1]
Encounter with LocustEdit
Mac led them to a tunnel that had lighting visible in it, and a Locust Drone emerged and began firing at them. Bernie and Pad took cover behind a group of rocks and Mac quickly got out of the way as they returned fire. Five other Drones emerged and joined the battle, but four of the Locust were quickly cut down. Bernie and Pad charged the remaining two, with Bernie shooting one in the face and Pad cutting through the other with his Chainsaw Bayonet. They then investigated the tunnel the Locust had dug in order to make sure there were no more Locust, and were soon joined by Rossi. Once they had secured the tunnel, they returned to their Packhorse and headed back for Anvil Gate to inform the rest of the COG that the Locust had returned.[1]
