We've gathered together some of the most enthusiastic fans of the mega-popular Gears of War franchise and developed a unique look at this complex and challenging world. Featuring a short story written by Gears 2 game writer (and monthly comic scribe) Joshua Ortega and art by rising superstar Federico Dallocchio. There are also loads of pinups by some of the hottest names in the industry, bringing gritty reality to this incredible property![3]

The story flashes back to Dom and Maria in the park with their children on the playground. Everything is peaceful, and the young couple are able to rent their first house, with Marcus taking the ironic image of the two. Then the story flashes to one month after the Mission to Montevado. Dominic and Jace are leading a group of Gears against half a dozen locust outside Jacinto. The Locust are liquidating a group of Stranded. Jace and the three other Gears give covering fire for Dom while he charges the building. Running to the building, he discovers that three drones had killed most of the civilians, except for a family who are hiding on the top floor. Dom frag tags a Drone and guns down another, but is unable to kill the last drone before it kills the husband and wife and their two kids. Dom is painfully reminded of when his children were swallowed up by a Emergence Hole on E-Day.[4]
