Dilland Jonty was a farmer who ran Merris Farm on the island of Vectes.

Biography

Running Merris Farm

Jonty ran Merris Farm by himself on the island of Vectes, fending off Stranded raids. He owned four dogs and after one of them was killed, he began shooting to kill whenever he spotted a Stranded on his farm.

Arrival of the COG

When the COG returned to the island, Jonty was visited by Sgt. Marcus Fenix and Sgt. Bernadette Mataki. He explained to them about how violent the Stranded were, and negotiated a food deal with Bernie in exchange for civilians who would help work on his land. He then flew in KR-239 with them, and pointed out landmarks across the island, along with paths the Stranded used to move across the island. When Marcus decided to head to the Stranded camp to give them the amnesty deal, Jonty was upset about it, not believing any of them were worthy of it. Afterwards, he accompanied them to an observation post near the camp, so that he could identify the more violent elements among the Stranded. Several weeks later, he reported a pall of smoke coming from the Stranded camp to the COG, who sent a team to investigate.

Stranded Raid

A few weeks later, Jonty's farm was attacked by Stranded insurgents. He was killed, and had his throat slit. His dogs were killed as well, and left where the COG would find them. His house and barn were then set on fire. His death signaled the beginning of a war between the COG and Stranded.
